21 Weekends Until Christmas!

Hi Friends!

I have another Christmas Card to share today featuring Heartfelt Creations "Sparkling Poinsettias" collection!  I am here to say that with the amazing paper, stamps and matching dies that you can get with this release, it is no problem to have a cards created and ready in a lot less time than it looks!  This card took me about 45 minutes including the photos and the writeup! Awesome-ness!  :)

I used two different panels from the paper collection, two poinsettias made with gold foil cardstock and green seed beads, and a little banner that I created just from scrap papers and embellishments. Easy peasy!  The patterned papers and card panels with sentiments do all the work for you!
You'll find all the step by step details for my card on the Heartfelt creations Blog today - and lots more beautiful Christmas projects: cards, layouts and some really fabulous 3-D projects!! Be sure to check it out!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

New Dies! New Products! New Cards!

Hi Friends!

Heartfelt Creations is having a "mini" release today - it' is a new set of dies to go with the Peacock Paisley collection!  The dies are awesome!!  They cut out the two featured Peacocks from the collection and the feather image! I've made two cards featuring two of the dies.

On my first project, I used the new feather die to embellish a card I made with the Cascading Fuchsias collection.  I had just finished attending a workshop by MercArt on metal embossing so I wanted to try out the technique on the feathers.  I stamped the feather image three times onto craft aluminum using Stazon Black Ink, then die cut them with the new coordinating feather die. I then proceeded to test out my new metal-shaping "skills" (LOL!) using tools by Ten Second Studio to impress and emboss the lines on my feather images. (I think I'm hooked, this technique is way too much fun!)  I tried a couple of different techniques on the feathers so they don't exactly match in appearance, but I used them all anyhow!

I next used a new tool I recently got called the Gyro-cut to create my front panel. This is one cool, can't-put-it-away, tool! I was amazed that it actually worked "as seen on TV (i.e., YouTube)!  I am a major klutz with an exact-o knife.  I have never been able to use one like everyone else does, and I've tried many different kinds thinking it's the tool (not the user LOL!) that is not working right. So this was one more craft knife for me to try (reluctantly) and OMG, it worked for me!

I used it to quickly cut away the center of the front panel of the card -- all around all the swirly scrolly shapes on the frame -- and it took very little effort and it came out perfect. The blade didn't skip or run off in it's own direction like all the others. I am so happy to add this guy to my arsenal!

So after creating all the flowers and die cuts and preparing the panels and parts, I assembled my card elements and tucked in the silver feathers on the side.  Please check out the Heartfelt Creations Blog today for the step by step instructions on how I made each of the elements.

Here's my list of HC products that I used for this card:
HCDP1-254 Cascading Fuchsia Paper Collection
HCPC-3672 Fuchsia Bouquet Cling Stamp Set
HCD1-763 Cascading Fuchsia Die
HCD1-762 Decorative Oval Die
HCPC-3545 Open Leaf Cling Stamp Set
HCD1-736 Classic Leaf Die
HCPC-3661 Feathery Peacock Cling Stamp Set
HCD1-771 Peacock Paisley Die
For my second card, I used the smaller peacock image and new coordinating die as the focal point.  The peacock dies are so amazingly detailed!!

I stamped the peacock image with Black Stazon ink onto a card stock scrap - I forgot to use watercolor paper but it didn't seem to be a problem!  I colored in the image with Zig Clean Water Color Brushes and they blended and colored beautifully.  I even blended multiple colors in the body of the peacock in an attempt to get an iridescent look and it was pretty easy to do.

To complete the card, I added texture to a panel of white card stock with an embossing folder, split it into two parts and added an "alley" of patterned paper between the two panels.  I adhered my peacock using dimensional foam and added a "ticket" sentiment that I cut out from the paper collection. I added some water coloring to the ticket to get it to match the colors of the peacock a little better.

All the details for this card are on the Heartfelt creations blog today also!

Here's my list of HC products that I used for this card:
HCD1-771 Peacock Paisley Die
HCDP1-252 Peacock Paisley Paper Collection
HCPC-3660 Peacock Swirls Cling Stamp Set
Check out all the samples using the new dies from HC on the blog! So many gorgeous project ideas to inspire you!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a blessed week everyone!

Sparkling Poinsettias

Hi Friends,

Wednesday is here again and I have a couple of "Sparkling Poinsettias Collection" projects to share!  Love this collection, love the poinsettias and the paper!!  Sigh....

I started by creating all my poinsettia flowers first.  I stamped the Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set twice with Peanut Brittle ink onto Blushing Bride cardstock.  I die cut all the petals and glued them together to make four different sized flowers.  I sponged all the petals with a light coat of diluted Carmine Red Viva Stamp Paint and added Stickles to the edges for sparkle.  I had the hardest time photographing these for some reason. It's probably the photographer...;)  Couldn't get the shimmer and sparkle to show up the way they look IRL!

For the card, I stamped the Sparkling Poinsettia Notes Cling stamp background with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with gold and Blushing Bride embossing powders.  I adhered the poinsettias to the panel using the image as a guide for placement. I added some gold, lacy fronds that were die cut using the Arianna Lace die set.

The ornament was made using the largest poinsettia flower which I hot-glued onto the snowflake.  (I purchased the snowflake in a set of 10 from Hobby Lobby after Christmas).  I stamped some leaves onto green patterned paper from the paper collection with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with gold EP,  I die cut them out with the matching dies and attached them under the flower on the snowflake.

I finished both projects with some sparkly green Christmas wire binding that I curled and tucked under the flower petals, a lacy ribbon and mini styrofoam balls to the centers of the flowers.

Here's a list of the Heartfelt Creations products I used:
HCDP1 256 Sparkling Poinsettia Paper Collection
HCD1 766 Sparkling Poinsettia Die
HCPC 3680- Sparkling Poinsettia Cling Stamp
HCD1765- Sparkling Poinsettia Die

Hi Friends!

For those of you that have any inkling of crafty-ness on the brain, then you know that July is the start of the Christmas count down!  It's only "weeks" before all those gifts have to be handmade, those cards hand-stamped and addressed, and all those packages have to be in the mail!  And for those of you that sell to those of us not organized enough to make all those wonderful crafty items, you've got all the craft shows and Etsy shops to fill up too!  So Christmas in July is a blessing and a curse!!  A blessing because the earlier we start the better.  But a curse because you know from now until January you will be crafting ideas in your head if not creating them in your studio!!  I know...trust me!!

But the good news is... the wonderful new Heartfelt Creations "Sparkling Poinsettia Collection" has arrived to help get you started!  Yippeeh!!
Rediscover the majesty, serenity and pageantry of Christmas with Heartfelt Creations' Sparkling Poinsettia Collection.  This glorious ensemble of stamps, dies and papers captures the stately splendor of Christmas with a regal color palette of burgundy, evergreen, taupe and cream.  Radiant poinsettias take center stage amidst a host of traditional Nativity scenes, twinkling candles, drifting snowflakes, lacy flourishes, exuberant banners and Heartfelt  greetings that are worthy of the King of Kings.  Six detailed stamp sets echo the glorious images found in the paper collection and two coordinating die sets can be used to create sparkling poinsettias that will never wilt or fade.  Chronicle sweet memories of the season, share holiday joy with family and friends, hail the holy babe born in the manger and deck the halls with Sparkling Poinsettia!

Altered Poppy Tin

Hello Friends,

Today I have a fun Altoid Tin that I altered for my Heartfelt Creations submission this week!

The altering was super easy!  I used a large pink poppy that I had previously made for the focal point, HC papers from the Blazing Poppies Collection, and the Classic Leaf dies and matching stamp for the foliage.  I covered the tin with decorative paper, then embellished it inside and out with some beaded trims and bling that I had in my stash.

For the inside, I accordion folded black cardstock and adhered small panels to each fold to be used as a small journal box, or scrapbook, or scripture tin.  It would be easy to customize this to whatever occasion suites you!

Here are a list of the Heartfelt Creations products I used on this project:
HCDP1 254 Cascading Fuchsia Paper Collection
HCPC 3674 Blazing Poppy Petals Cling Stamps
HCD1 764 Blazing Poppy Die
HCPC-3546 Classic Leaf Cling Stamps
HCD1-736 Classic Leaf Die
