Blue Bird on Velum Card

Hello All!

I created another card using Heartfelt Creations Birds and Blooms collection.  I love the papers in this collection - I always say that... LOL!

For this card, I stamped my image on a panel of velum paper and layered it over some of the gorgeous patterned paper.  It really added a lot of depth and richness to the image.

All the step by step instructions are posted on the Heartfelt Creations blog today!  Along with a great video with a stamping technique by Emma Lou and lots more samples using the Birds and Blooms collection!  Be sure to check it out!!

Hi Friends,

My Heartfelt Creations Card for this week is a collage of the latest "Birds and Blooms" collection.  The full write up and tons of other gorgeous projects are posted on the Heartfelt Creations Blog today!!!  Be sure to check it out!

This card is made up of several layers of aqua colored papers from the paper collection and stamped, gold embossed leaves, birds and butterflies!  I can't tell you how easy it is to get creative using the papers and coordinating stamps!

The cling stamps from Heartfelt Creations that I used on this card are:

HCPC 3645 Leafy Branch Cling Stamp Set with coordinating die
HCPC 3644 Birds and Blooms Cling Stamp Set with coordinating die
HCPC 3649 Birds and Blooms Collage Cling Stamp Set

The step by step details on how to make it can be found today on the Heartfelt Creations Blog. You will be amazed at the projects and cards posted today by the Design Team, I encourage you to check out the creative inspiration you can find there, it really is fantastic!

Chameleon Pens - It's a "Yes" For Me!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge Card!
Happy Monday!
$84 + Shipping Amazon
This card was created for the Paper Smooches Sparks "Anything Goes" Challenge found on the SPARKS blog here!

Chameleon Pens peaked my interest on YouTube and I began to  research these curious new pens.  Making a long story short, after three weeks of checking out everything I could find, I bought the large 20-pen set.  I was sold when I realized I could get all the different shades I needed of a color with one pen.  They are alcohol ink pens, exact same qualities and results as Copics, but the need for 6 green pens (or more!) for example, in different shades is gone.  For me, it takes the frustration out of not having the exact color I wanted for my image.
Three colors required for this card.

This cute image is a Heartfelt Creations stamp called "Feathered Friends".

Three colors required for this card.

So what do you think?  A quick disclaimer though -- there's a learning curve, it took me a couple of tries to figure out the way the ink flows and the blending technique, but now I find it's a no-brainer for me!  Let me know your thoughts!

Cards Featuring Frantic Stamper!

Hi Friends!

Last month an "old" friend reached out and asked me if I'd be interested in joining back up with Frantic Stamper as a Guest Designer to showcase some of the new dies they are manufacturing.  What???!  Of course!!  I love creating with dies and I know the talent of the die designer, so I am thrilled and honored!
FRA-DIE-09376 "Easter Scene Card Panel" die from Frantic Stamper
My first card is created with a brand new, just-released die for January 2015.  It's a single, card-sized die and it creates a scene for you instantly.  The only thing I had to do was add some background paper and it was done!  Easy peasy adorable Easter Card!
FRA-DIE-09375 "Diagonal Card Sketcher" and FRA-DIE-09400 "Faith" dies from Frantic Stamper

This next card is created using an amazing die set from FS that creates a card base and comes with several pieces that you can use on your card in a zillion different ways!  I love love love this set!  All the pieces have faux stitching embossed along the edges.

The word "Faith" that I embedded into the card base is also a FS die -- don't you love the font style??  I also love that it is large enough that it can be used as the focal point of your design.
The background, dimensional flowers and leaves are made with Heartfelt Creations' "Birds and Blooms" set.  And don't you know, you can get the entire "Birds and Blooms" over at Frantic Stamper too!!

I posted a few other cards I made over on the Frantic Stamper blog so if you're interested in checking those out, please pop on over to see what I created along with the other talented designers working with the Frantic Stamper products!

A Bird with Blooms! Its a Great "New Release" Day!

Turn to the Right!
 Hi Friends!

2015 is off to an amazing start at Heartfelt Creations! All their upcoming new releases that I've been privileged to play with are wonderful!  I'm so excited about this company!

Today we introduce "Birds and Blooms"!  Here's a description of the new collection from the Home Office:

"Does Old Man Winter have you firmly in his grip? Chase the winter blues away with a breath of springtime! Heartfelt Creations is pleased to present the "Birds and Blooms" collection: a virtual spring garden that's lovely as a song! Shades of cherry blossom pink, robin's egg blue, and soft leafy green fill sunny garden scenes featuring bluebirds, blooming branches, picket fences, bird baths, bird houses, butterflies and frilly hydrangeas. Dozens of stunning card fronts, pre-designed layouts, borders, sentiments and artwork are the perfect remedy for mid-winter doldrums. Six hand-drawn stamp sets feature blossom laden branches, nesting birds, garden scenes and an elegant collage. Two sets of dies coordinate with papers and stamps allowing you to add realistic blossoms, branches and birds to your artwork. Take a well-deserved break from the bleak landscape of winter and escape to a colorful springtime garden where birds chirp, flowers bloom, and soft breezes lift your spirit and inspire your creativity!"

I've had so much fun with this collection -- lots to show you -- but I must pace myself!

First up is this little unpainted wooden bird that I altered.  I believe I purchased him from Hobby Lobby.  I dressed him up with festive party blooms and a hat that I made from the "Birds and Blooms Paper Collection."

Prepared the little blooms and branches for the bird

Added pieces and strips of paper using Mod Podge

Covered all sides

Glued on flowers and branches
Made a party hat with flowing fibers!
Turn to the Left!
And he's ready for his close up!
Then next is a card!

This one is also created using just the materials from the awesome Birds and Blooms collection!  I leaned towards an Asian theme with this because of the blossoms and branches and of course it gives me another opportunity to make some fans!

I hope you enjoy!

All the step by step details to make these projects are on the HC blog!   The HC Blog is overflowing with more amazing cards and projects showcasing this new release!  Run on over to check it out!

A Bit Different

Hi Friends,

One more week before Heartfelt Creations releases their new "Birds and Blooms" set next week!!  You're going to love it -- see photos and video here for what's to come!

Meanwhile, here's a card I made using the Romantique Garden collection.  This one highlights another one of the stamps in the collection called "Love Bird Hangout" which I stamped onto light green patterned paper from the paper collection and colored it in with Copics.  I  used a Krylon Gold Leafing pen to add the gold shimmer on the flowers and along the edges of the panels.

Sort of came out looking "old world" style I think.  That's kind of different for me! I'm just enjoying how easily you can change up the themes and styles of these collections by just using different color pallets and embellishments.  Endless possibilities! The step-by-step instructions to make the card are posted on the HC Blog.

Be sure to check out my card and all the new inspiration posted on the Heartfelt Creations Blog today!!  So much to see -- you will be glad you did!
