Woodware Challenge - Smile, Anything Goes!

Are you as happy as I am to not be making Christmas cards anymore!!?  Well now I'm working on a few Thank You cards so I made one for this week's Woodware Challenge: Anything Goes!  Yay!!

I used the "Mixed Greetings" set from Woodware for my card.   The goofy smiley face and the sentiment are both part of the same set.  This is definitely a must-have "basics" if you're wondering which Woodware set to start with!  I use it all the time, it's unique and fun because of the variety of sentiment styles in it.  There are also several images (like the smiley face) to enhance your sentiment included in the set too.  Very cool and a great value!

The Woodware Challenge for December is almost over!!  Join us over on the Woodware Blog and link your card there.  You could win a free Woodware USA set!  If you actually use a Woodware stamp on your creation, you'll get a second entry in the drawing!  While you're there, check out all the great samples the DT has come up with this week!!

Woodware Challenge -- Sketch!

This week's Woodware USA Challenge is a fun and easy sketch!

I used two sizes of Nestabilities Blossoms #2 dies to create texture in the card base, then used the same dies as masks and stippled Blue Bayou ink to create the left strip for the sketch.  I covered the inked portion of the "strip" with two-way glue and sprinkled hologram glitter over it.

My main image is from Woodware USA's "Christian Celebrations" set A great set that covers Baptisms, Christenings, Communion, Confirmations, and Weddings!!  The words in the set all come as separate stamps so you can create any sentiment you want, depending on the celebration.  This is going to be a very useful set for me!!  I'm so pleased with the versatility of this set!!

Hope you'll join the challenge this week!  You don't have to use Woodware stamps, but by joining in you could win your own set!!  Check out the Woodware Blog for details and check out the other DT's samples for this week's Sketch Challenge!!

I stopped today to take photos of the cards I've been making and its clear that I'm either just going to have to throw them all up here with minimal descriptions or only select a few to post and give you all the details.   So, I went with the "throw them all up here" choice!  I categorized them by color to show you the stack in three separate posts.

Holiday Tags!

Hi All,

Here's some Holiday Tags I made as part of my DT work for Frantic Stamper.  Fran sent us all kinds of fun holiday goodies and different sized tags and asked us to come up with some holiday tags!  These, and the rest of the DT's tags, will be featured on the Frantic Stamper blog through the month of December.

This first tag features DP and a coordinating chipboard piece from Cratepaper's "Snowy Day" collection.  The stamps used are Inkadinkadoos "Warm Holiday Wishes" and "Tags and Wishes".  My satin ribbon and the glitter button are by American Crafts.

This tag was made using a generic medium-sized office supply tag.  I sponged the edges, stamped the "Special Delivery" image using JH Distress ink in Vintage Photo, then embellished with a little tree from the same "Snowy Day" collection.  The ferns are MS punch, the buttons are Fancy Pants "About a Girl", and the half back gold pearls are from Michaels.  Fun and easy!!

This last tag was so much fun to make!!  I used Tim Holtz Caged Bird Sizzix Bigz Die, Prima Holiday Flowers and chipboard pieces from My Mind's Eye "Holly Jolly" Collection. The DP used on the cage is Graphic 45 Christmas Past and the rest of the tag is covered with Holly Jolly die cut accessories (the calendar) and DP -- probably my fav DP collection for this season!

My main, title photo above in this post is angled so you can see the dimension I added under the cage.  I just cut out scrap foam sticker paper in an arch (eyeballed it), covered it with scrap CS, then glued the rounded side of the foam to the bottom of the cage edge.

Next I die cut another cage, and the bird from the "Caged Bird" die using a red piece from the Holly Jolly collection and raised the wing of the bird with a dimensional.  I positioned the cage onto the my main tag and glued it down.  I then placed the curved cage piece over the flat one, glued them together and added all my embellishments!

Serious FUN for a paper crafter!!

All my supplies are available at the amazing Frantic Stamper store!!
